Rupert Smith is the sole proprietor of Empire Construction and has been in the construction and tile business since 1982. He specializes in tile, granite, marble and other exquisite stone.
Experience
Rupert began his career in London, England where he completed an apprenticeship in carpentry. He then worked in different countries, such as Spain and Norway, furthering his knowledge and experience. He established himself in the United States in 1992 when he started a company in Florida.
Rupert founded Empire Construction in Portland in 1998, the city that has become his home. He found Portland’s distinct style and multiple tastes to be the perfect fit for his business and his family. He feels that Portland homes have so much style, and are pieces of art in and of themselves. In his work on jobs large and small, he strives to enhance the property or project with top quality craftsmanship and an artistic touch.
